As mentioned earlier this section will give a brief description of the events shot in the sport of Pin Shooting. For a details explanation and the rules and regulations, please visit the download section and download the Pin Shooting Manual.
Stock/Pin Revolver
As depicted in the image this is the layout of a revolver event. 8 Pins on a double tier table. 4 pins per tier. It is shot by double action revolvers of 38 Specials or higher calibre.
Stock Revolver
Stock Revolver (forced reload) is an event where you have a maximum of 6 rounds in the revolver and on reload you are again limited to 6 rounds. So 8 shot revolvers do not have any advantage over 6 shot revolvers here.
No speed loaders or full-moon clips may be used either.
No compensators are allowed either.
If by some luck you manage to clear the entire table with only 6 shots you must reload and fire one more round over the table before your time stops. This is done because it is a forced reload event so a reload must happen.
Pin Revolver
Here is where the 8 shot revolvers (mostly Taurus M608's) are favoured. The table is setup the same as for Stock Revolver but you are allowed 8
shots in your revolver on start up and on reloads.
Speed loaders and full-moon clips are also allowed.
Compensators and barrel weights are also allowed on the weapon.
If all the pins are cleared without a reload your time will stop since this is not a forced reload event. No optic sights are allowed.
Stock/Pin Gun
As depicted in the image this is the layout of a Stock or Pin Gun event. 5 Pins on a double tier table. 2 Pins on the upper tier and 3 on the lower tier. This event is either shot with a pistol or revolver of sufficient calibre to do the job.
Stock Gun
With stock gun you are only allowed 8 rounds in the gun and your reloads are also just 8 rounds. No barrel weights or compensators are allowed. You are allowed to use speed loaders or a second revolver if you decide to shoot this event with a revolver.
Pin Gun
Same rules as above apply as to rounds allowed in the firearm but you are allowed barrel weights and compensators.
No optic sights are allowed.
9 Pin
As depicted in the image this is the layout of a 9 Pin Tip-over event.
9 Pins on a single tier table. This event is shot with a centre-fire pistol of sufficient power.
There are no magazine capacity restrictions and compensators are allowed.
No optic sights are allowed.
9mmP rules supreme here since they have high capacity in a medium size package and the lower recoil makes follow up shots quicker.
